South Havens Dewey Love
Owner: Beth Christianson, VA
(Cowboy X Thelma) 2007
Dear Janice, Hi! I’m so glad that I bought Dewey. He is so sweet and a lover. He follows me everywhere and he lays next to me, when I’m getting ready for work. One night he put his head on my foot, as I was brushing my teeth. Dewey knows his name and comes when called. He learned that on the first day home.

As of yesterday, he only goes potty on the puppy potty pads, next to the door that we go out to go potty every time. Last night, he wined at the door. We went outside and he went poop!! I was so excited!! I praised him and gave him a treat. He doesn’t go near the electric cords anymore, since I told him only 3-4 times not to go over there. For the most part, he usually only chews on the puppy toys that I gave him. Although, he is fascinated with play biting me and my shoes. He had indeed stolen my heart!

He has made friends with just about every dog and person in the next apartment building across from us. One dog (a rat terrier named Munchkin who isn’t friendly) was outside. Dewey went right over to meet her. His good dog friends are a miniature pincher named Smokey and a Shipu Enu (ok—spelling?) named Chevy. Our first walk was loads of laughs. We only walked about 2 blocks. In the middle of the walk, he laid down to take a nap. I encouraged him to keep going and he did. On the way back, Dewey lay down to nap and wouldn’t move. He was indeed tired. I just picked him up and walked back.

Thank you for allowing me to purchase Dewey from you. He is a great companion and friend. I will enjoy him forever! My sister said that her next dog will be a Pembroke Welsh Corgi. Sincerely, Beth
Janice, HI! At church, yesterday, I brought Dewey and all of the kids really loved him, of course so did the adults. Yesterday, we went on a walk at Mount Trashmore in Virginia Beach. Dewey met about 20 dogs on the walk, as well as their owners. Of course, everyone loved him. I was amazed that he walked the whole mile and a half. Of course, afterward he took a long nap. This is our longest walk yet. Our last walk was only about 2 blocks. He was very tired after that. Whenever people ask where I purchased Dewey from, I tell them about South Haven Farm. I tell them that if they want a healthy Pembroke Welsh Corgi to purchase one from you. I think that I’ve at least told 3 or 4 people about you. In the vet’s office, a few people asked for Dewey’s breeder’s name, so I told them about you. The dogs are so wonderful!! Sincerely, Beth

(Cowboy X Ginny) 2006 & 2007
Hi Janice--
Thought you might enjoy seeing an update of Gracie. She has traveled many places since leaving the farm. My family was here from Kansas so she did some "sight-seeing". She is adorable and gets lots of attention from just about everyone that lays eyes on her. She had her 12-week check-up yesterday and is now 6 pounds. We are absolutely having the best time. She knows how to "sit" and potty training is coming along.Hope you are doing well. Thanks again. Beth
I can not express the gratitude I feel to you for "Gracie". She is such a joy and pleasure. She is now 7 months old and continues to grow and learn more each day. She is a beautiful pup. She has been in "pup" training and is so smart. She knows how to "wait" and "stay" and she is progressing quite well with "loose leash" walking. She is the greatest. Thanks so much. Beth
Here are some great "professional shots" of our girls. We are having so much fun with them. We put a fence in and they have plenty of room to run. They are indoors most of 95% of their time.

So far having my new puppy has been a good experience. It's sometimes hard to potty train him. But also it's very fun playing with him and letting him sleep on or beside me. I really like his running "hops" when he is excited. He chews on literally everything, including the dog we already have in the house, but I keep a good eye on him. I have named him "Wilson". I don't exactly remember how long I was supposed to send pictures, but I have several here to show you. Thanks again Janice. From, James

South Haven's Bella De Ball
Owner: Colleen Kelley
(Haynes X Annie) 2006
Hi Janice. 'Bella' recently turned 7 months and what a character. She has a winning personality and wins over the love and attention from everyone that meets her. She is currently taking training classes and doing very well. What a smart girl! She has tremendous energy and fortunately is able to spend a great deal of that with her Brittany playmate, Jasmine. They romp and roll all day long, inside the house and out. We have also found Bella to be a real lover. She often greats us with kisses, kisses, and more kisses. And we just love it. She loves to go to the public park and great all the people there, especially all the little children that run to greet her. Bella gets special attention at the vet because her mommy, Colleen, is the Manager of the Vet we take her too. At 7 months she weighs about 14 lbs. The one word that best describes Bella is "fun" .....

Rowdy McCrone
Owners: Laura & Ian McCrone
(Cowboy X Ginny) 2006

It's been a busy summer with our little girl. She is doing great, potty training has been going quite well, although she still was the occasional accident, but what can we expect, she's only 4 months old. We actually are constantly amazed that, although she's definitely an alpha female, she's really been easy to train, and a lot of the problem behaviors we were anticipating (chewing furniture, etc.) were never really a problem. This doesn't mean that she's not "Rowdy", she is certainly living up to her name, and really keeps us on our toes. She's a favorite of both Ian's an my families, even winning over my dad, which is no easy feat. She now climbs all the stairs to our apartment all by herself and last weekend conquered the couch for the first time (the accomplishments of a suburban puppy :-) ). I never realized what a great addition to our family she would be, but there is no day too crappy for Rowdy not to fix with her big goofygrin and a lick of the face.

Bandit Tindell
Owners: Kim & Jeremy Tindell
 (Cowboy X Ginny) 2006
Here are some updated pictures of Bandit. Boy, has he grown! He was 12 lbs. today at the vet. He is such a great dog!
Hi Janice, Here are new pictures of Bandit. He is a whopping 25 lbs.! He has really become quite the little monster; chasing our cat and chewing everything in his path. Despite his puppiness we love him very much and are so glad you brought him into our life. We are sure it is nothing a little training won't fix. We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Take care and God bless! Love, Jeremy, Kimberly, and Bandit

Enie Martin
Owner: Ashley Martin
(Haynes X Annie) 2006
Hi, Janice! I wanted to write and let you know how Einie is faring with us. First of all, since day 1 we’ve been amazed at how intelligent and easy she is to train! By the end of the first week she was coming when called, walking beside us with a loose leash, sitting and looking at us before entering through doors, and communicating when in her crate if she needed to go potty! She’s also learned restraint around the ferrets and does well with that for being just a puppy. They are still getting used to her, but they are much more comfortable and have begun to include her in their games. They tease her by running through their tubes that she can only poke her head into. It’s quite amusing.

Also, we’re amazed at how fast she’s growing. She has her first vet appointment this Saturday, so I’m anxious to see how much she weighs. We swear she’s bigger each day than the last!

We’ve also received a ton of compliments on her colors and nature. She’s stopped traffic to have passengers come pet her and random men asking for cell phone pictures.

I think the most impressive happened this morning. Seth forgot to latch her crate after taking her for a potty break last night. This morning we were in our living room discussing how she should probably get up to go potty and have her breakfast. Right on cue, she walked out to Seth from our bedroom and sat by his feet. We were both confused as to how she got out, but when we realized she was never locked in, we were amazed that she never left her crate during the night at all even though she knew she could.

In summary, we’re so glad we have her! We love her to death and know that it would be impossible to find a better quality puppy anywhere. We’ve already told a couple of people where we got her, so hopefully, you’ll have some more interest in future corgi litters.

Here are a couple of pictures from her first week with us. Enjoy!

Lucia Martin
Owners: Bryce & Travis Martin
(Cowboy X Indy) 2005
Janice, Good afternoon. I’m not sure you will remember us but we got a tri-color Pembroke Corgi (female) from you around last July.
She has turned out to be such a wonderful dog – we love her so much!! I have never had a dog with such personality and spirit. She is about a year and a couple months now – she was born in April 05. We are very interested in getting a little baby brother to join Lucia, we are interested in a sable and white boy. I was wondering what litters you have planned for around the December/January timeframe. I would get one before that but we will be taking a vacation in late November and I know I won’t want to leave such a little puppy with someone else. Thanks so much, Bryce and Travis Martin

Conan Fogleman
Owner: Heidi Fogleman
(Haynes X Annie) 2006
Janice, Conan has stolen all of our hearts from us to the cat to our other dog.

If you look at the first pic and the last you can see the spot on his head is filling in but is still distinct and I believe will stay that way (we're hoping anyway). His color is changing rapidly. Let me tell you, there's not enough film to catch this transition.        okay yes, he's my baby              Heidi Fogleman

Janice, OH MY GOSH, yes it is a beer can. I thought about that but thought the pic was way too cute not to send. I can't believe my husband got that shot.

Everywhere I go with Conan I get people who swarm me and I don't think it's just because I have a puppy either. We are all enrolled in Puppy Education at PetSmart and every week there is somebody standing outside the gates waiting for us to come out, I swear. I think I've given three couples the name of South Haven in Tappahannock, VA (I hope that was okay). He's definitely a breed that when you like them you really, really like them. I NOW LOVE THE BREED!!

He's a swimmer Janice. Jay took the dogs fishing with him to the small creek by our house and he couldn't find Conan for a second and looked in the water and there he was swimming around. he could barely touch bottom but there is nothing that that little guy will not get in to. He is afraid of nothing and turned out to be the outdoorsy dog we were looking for. Conan is so worth everything we've ever hoped he would be. Heidi
We just adore him and he's spoiled rotten. Attached is the original pic you sent of him to me along with pics of him now if you are interested in how he's doing. As you can see he kept the spot on his head. We couldn't believe he climbed that rock in the third pic there. If you can zoom in on him on the rock you can see it was a big challenge for him. He loves the outdoors and I can't tell you how much he fits in with us and our life style.

I want a r/w female and I'm not in a hurry as I want to wait for the right pup. You will have to let me know how early in advance I will need to put down a deposit. Thanks for everything. Heidi

Ms South Havens Sasha
Owner: Teresa Bosch
(Cowboy X Jasmine) 2007
Janice, Just wanted to let you know that our pup...now named "Sasha"...made the trip to her new home without any troubles and is settling in just great. Ms. South Havens Sasha, as she will be registered as, has the sweetest personality and easily wins over everyone she is seen by (in person or in pictures). The possible exception to that is our Chihuahua-Pug mix, Maria....though honestly, she's not aggressive towards the pup, just very doubtful that another dog was really needed in the house.

I've included some pictures for you, and you can see what I mean by the expression on Maria's face as she looks at Sasha. Sincerely, Teresa

Trevor Jones
Owner: Robin Jones
(Baxter X Fifi) 2006
Janice, Just wanted to thank you for providing us with one lovely puppy. As I write this; I am one tired new pup mommy and one tired puppy is sleeping contently in his crate. Yesterday was a long day for me but one that will be memorable. I did have a late start due to a family emergency (nothing very serious; my dad sprained his ankle) and I appreciate your mom's patience and hospitality. Anyway, I will keep you in suspense no longer; the pup's name is Trevor Raven Jones (WOW! big name for a little guy). I've a attached a few (out of the many my husband has taken) pictures taken today. He is a sweet guy and is already settling in, thanks to you preparing him. He slept through the night, but did have a few little accidents and a slight upset tummy (but its getting better).
Again, thank you and we will keep in touch. Robin Jones
Hi Janice, I can’t believe its going on six weeks since we got Trevor; he has grown so much. This past Monday he weighed just over ten pounds (when I picked him up he was only 4.8 pounds); I am attaching some pictures. Trevor has endeared himself to everyone he meets and has become the sweetheart of our neighborhood and local boardwalk, where we walk every weekend. He is taking a puppy class at our local Petco and is progressing well with his training.

Trevor has quite a personality; we have found him to exhibit the typical Pembroke qualities, he is very intelligent with a bit of devil in him but we are very much in love with him. As he grows we will continue to send updates with pictures. Sincerely, Robin Jones

Bosco Johnson
Owner: Nancy Johnson
(Baxter X Fifi) 2006
Hi Janice, Just wanted to update you on how great Bosco is doing. We went Monday to get a booster shot. The vet got a new microchip reader and I'm pleased to report the chip is working! Bosco got a clean bill of health, he was 10.9 lbs. We are so happy with how well Bosco fits the existing family. Of course he thinks he is KING. Tucker is being a great big brother. He showed Bosco how to chew on the hoofs. Now, every time Bosco has to lay right in front of Tuck when he chews. It is so funny to watch them chew and then switch hoofs. Tuck has really started watching out for Bosco. They are buds. I've attached some pixs of Bosco and Tuck. Again, thanks for all your help. You, could not have made a better match. I have never had a puppy that was so easy to train & house break. He can fetch, sit, drop & wait. He'll run to the door and bark to go outside to the bathroom. We are still working on come the first time he hears it, but I think he is just testing me. He is to smart sometimes. Hope all is well with your family and building of your new home. Take care and I'll keep you updated on my little buddies progress.

Dutchess Lucchesi
Owner: Diane Lucchesi
(Baxter X Fifi) 2006
Hi Janice, Just wanted to send you an updated pic. Dutchess will be 3 months this Friday ^_^
She is doing great. She graduated from puppy obedience class last weekend. We couldn’t be happier with her.
These pictures were taken at my niece’s 1 year b-day party. All the kids were playing with Dutchess and totally wiped her out. The pic of Dutchess laying down is after all the kids left. She finally had a chance to relax! ^_^

Gina Hudenburg
Sabine Hudenburg
(Cowboy X Indy) 2007

Hello Janice, This pup of yours is great! Really, such a super pup! She met a cat (on the leash -cat was on the leash..) and a many more people and she loves it! She slept well tonight, from about 10 pm - 7 am, I just took her out once. She is super good. We left her home alone today, and she did not even flinch. Have a nice day! Sabine

Hi Janice, Gina is doing well, we started a Puppy class two weeks ago. House training is going well and her biting/mouthing is much, much better. She is growing so much. She still loves everyone!

Cupid Ortiz
Owners: The Ortiz Family
(Cowboy X Indy) 2005
Cupid has come a long way since we picked him up, he was shy and to himself. now he wants to see and hear everything, he gives you loving all the time, he will bounce up on the couch and up to your face if someone is sad or crying and lay his face up against you, cheek to cheek and have his paws wrap around your neck to say its ok. he also loves to kiss my kids, but i think its to clean their faces of left over food. he plays with our black cat "lets see who can slap a snout faster and harder with a paw" always the same cupid seems to lose out, he will lay on his side and start it, the cat can slap faster and with both paws better then he can, its a riot watching them play, at times he will lick the cats head and ears and then slap him. they play hide and seek. he has taken control of the large husky we have, he is alpha with her, she lays down and plays with him and they chase each other around. when it comes to food he controls the bowl and lets her know it, and she sits and waits her turn, he will take food right out oh our husky's mouth with no complaint from her. he loves to chew on plastic bottles, that keeps him busy for 30 mins or an hour, and he loves his stuffed animals and rubber toys. he always tries to herd the kids into a circle, that is worth seeing, we laugh every time. he is very protective of the kids, any sound that sounds like pain or a concern of the kids and he comes running and gets in front of them to be a shield, he is brave and loyal and only afraid of the "Bad diesel trucks" that drive by and the "Bad Vacume cleaner". he love s his momma when she comes home from work , his ears go back and he drops his head and starts crying to her, as soon as she sits down he is up and over onto her lap in one bounce and gives kisses all over. he gets real happy when people come home, and all worried when someone from the family is not home. One day, cupid was howling like mad and crying in the garage where the other dogs have there kennels, one of our husky's had gone into a coma and could not move, he was letting us know that there was a major problem with her and he was trying to pick up her face with his. she died in my arms while i tried CPR on her, i lost a great friend once again. twice in one year. that was too much for me. cupid is very alert and always checking on the girls at night right before he goes to bed, he hops up on the bed and sticks his nose on their faces to see if they move and he stares at them for a moment then he goes to the next one. if no one moves he puts a paw on their face and pushes. he watches over the whole family, he thinks the three kids are part of the pack and guards them. we tell him to say please, he will do a low, whine growl with a sad look on his face. when i say there is a mad dog in the house he will come running and snarling and snapping at me, all in fun and play and i will hold and slap his cheeks, when i say cool it, he stops what he is doing and look me right in the eye as if to say "are you sure!" when he was a pup, about the size to fit in my two hands, he used to fit under the step stool, know hea can't. everytime i say you can fit under the stool anymore, you have a "fat head" he stops what he is doing and looks at you as if to say" what did you say and come flying at me doing the same with the mad dog thing, what a laugh. he stays by our side all the time, depends on who he is with. he is our door bell also, no need for anyone to push it or knock. we travel alot and he takes it in stride, we put a towel over his kennel and he goes to sleep like a parrot. we love him and do not know what we would do with out him. Otto D. Ortiz and family

Hi, I had to send you pictures. Max's favorite thing is this big stuffed animal. He is so good he sleeps through the night in his crate. He is a talker. If he wants something he barks. Really expressive. If he doesn't like something he barks or talks. Everyone loves him. Any way Thank you, Aimee

Scraps Siever
Owners: JD & Katie Siever
(Haynes X Annie) 2007
Just wanted to give you an update on Scraps. We absolutely adore him and he has settled in quite nicely. He loves to visit grandma's house and play with the big dogs. In fact he seems to rule the roost and they just let him do what he pleases. This past weekend he got his picture taken with Santa, thought you might want to see. Thanks again, Katie and JD Siever
